Monday September 27th The WCLL has learned that Division 7 comprised of all Minnesota and a couple of teams from Wisconsin has decide to form there own league. This league will be run by St Thomas coach Todd Wadsworth and UMD coach Brian Finnvik. We wish both of them and the rest of the teams good luck in starting there new venture. This however will have no impact on the WCLL. It will keep our league more manageable and with the smaller geography make it easier for scheduling and hopefully keep costs down. In now ay does this prohibit teams from playing any of the old teams in our league, as they will still be part of the USLIA If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me Gary Neft WCLL Comissioner

April 26(Toledo, OH) On another gorgeous day the WCLL hosted there 10th annual league championships. U. of Michigan and Pittsburgh were the top 2 seeds followed by Buffalo and Illinois. Two schools, St Mary's and Minnesota(Moorhead), were making there first appearance, while Miami, Michigan St, Bethel, Truman St, Ohio St and Missouri were all aiming for the title. The day began with two great games Ohio St and St mary's locked in a back in forth game with Ohio St prevailing 8-7. In the Missouri/Miami game the flow was just intense as Miami and Missouri went toe to toe and finally in double overtime Missouri came out on top 12-11. The two other first round games saw Truman St come back froma 3 goal deficit and knock off Division VII champ Bethel 9-7 and Michigan St held off an upstart Minnesota(Moorhead) team 9-5 to set up the quarterfinals. In the first quarterfinal Michigan knocked of Ohio St for the second time tin two weeks 9-2, Michigan St upset 3rd seed Illinois 11-8, Buffalo rolled over Division VI champ Truman St 10-2 and Pittsburgh came back from a one goal halftime deficit to knock off a cagey Missouri team 8-5. This set up two semifinal rematches with Michigan/Michigan St and Pittsburgh/Buffalo. In the first game Michigan jumped out ahead of MSU and never looked back in a 12-4 victory, while in the second game Buffalo opened up a one goal halftime lead and won going away and revenged an earlier season loss with an 11-2 victory and puched there ticket to there first league championship game. In the finals Michigan and Buffalo played a great contest with Michigan prevailing for there third straight league championship and a spot in the National Championships. May 10(Lawrence, Kansas) The WCLL is sad to announce that six teams will be leaving the WCLL to begin a new league. Kansas, Missouri, Lindenwood, St Louis, Truman St, Washington U. will be joined by Nebraska and Oklahoma St to form a new league. We thank all the teams for participating in our league and helping it grow and Dave Wiley, who has been instrumental in helping our league grow, our best wishes in his new endeavor For Immediate Release May 10, 2004: Six teams from Division VI of the Women's Collegiate Lacrosse League have joined with two independent teams to form the Central Plains Women's Lacrosse League, which will commence play during the 2004/05 academic year. The league will be organized into two divisions with a four-team league championship tournament at the conclusion of the Spring 2005 regular season. The CPWLL will consist of the University of Kansas, Lindenwood University, the University of Missouri (Columbia), the University of Nebraksa (Lincoln), Oklahoma State University, Saint Louis University, Truman State University and Washington University (MO).
