WCLL Playing Rules

The Women's Collegiate Lacrosse League (WCLL) plays NCAA Division III rules except for the following:
- The WCLL will play 25 minute running halves for all single games. Playdays may consist of 20 running halves if so designated by the host school.
- There will not be a stopped clock after each goal except for the last 2 minutes of each half.
- If there is a tie game after regulation there will be a 5 minute overtime period for playdays only If it is still tied after 5 minutes the teams will switch ends of the field and play a second overtime and so on until a winner is decided. All other overtimes will played according to NCAA Rules There should be no ties in the WCLL
- Teams must play a minumum of seven games against seven different opponents to qualify for the playoffs.
- Teams must notify another team within 96 hours or more to cancel a game. Any team not adhering to the 96 hour rule will forfeit. If they cannot get a hold of the team's captain then they must contact myself in the office. Any team forfeiting 3 or more games will be asked to forfeit the season.
- If a team cannot field 12 players it is up to the opposing team to decide if the game will count or be played. However it is their right to play an exhibition game after calling a forfeit.
- It is the responsibility of the visiting team to ask about uniform colors. Because we do not require two sets of uniforms, it is a good idea for teams to have pinnies or scrimmage vests in case both teams have the same color jersies. The visiting team must wear contrasting jersies.
- All scores must be called or e-mailed in by the HOME team each Sunday for games played that week. If the score isn't reported it didn't happen. It is also the responsibility of the host team to call in all scores from their playday. So please consult the official for each game played.
- All matters regarding team and personal conduct as well as decisions on tie breakers and other league matters will be handled by the commisioner.
